About Our Bookshop in Swaffham

PLEASE NOTE OUR NEW TRADING HOURS!!!!!!!

Ceres is an established local independent bookshop situated in the heart of Swaffham's busy market town. We have a well-known and enviable reputation for offering everything an avid book reader might need, together with very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable staff.

We welcome visitors from all over Norfolk and beyond, and many customers come into the shop just to say "Hello" and have a chat! The atmosphere inside is very welcoming and relaxed, in fact many people have said: "it's just how a real bookshop should be".

We have an extensive range of both new and secondhand books, and we also provide a dedicated book search facility. Our staff will go out of their way to make sure you find the book you are looking for, where perhaps other avenues have failed.

We can order books for collection within a few days, but many arrive within 24 hours. We pride ourselves on offering customers speedy delivery, and never like to let people down.

In addition to stocking new and secondhand books we also provide a book valuation service. We are always interested in hearing from people with rare or antique books for sale, and we guarantee to give you the best possible price should you wish to sell.

Customer Comments

We are very proud of the personal service we give to our clients, and like to make sure that everyone goes away happy! We are also very pleased to have received many favourable comments. Here are just some of things which people have said about us:

"This excellent independent bookshop selling new and secondhand books, maps and guides, also serves coffee and homemade cakes in its charming backroom cafe."

Extract from Alistair Sawday's Guide called "Slow Norfolk & Suffolk"

"I had a fantastic holiday with my friends in Norfolk...My favourite day was the Friday when we went into Swaffham (where Kingdom is filmed) and found a lovely little bookshop-cum-tearoom called Ceres (on London Road), where we browsed second hand books and ate a cream tea served by a charming Irish lady. If there is a better way to spend an afternoon, I've yet to find it."

Sally Quilford

"My Lovely Day in Swaffham...And while browsing (around the town) go to... the really first class new and second hand bookshop - an increasingly rare sight these days."

Celia Imrie (who played Gloria Millington in the TV series 'Kingdom')
